Sev1Tech is seeking a Network Communications Engineer to support a Technical Area (TA) within the Boulder TAP Lab for OPIR (Overhead Persistent Infrared) systems.

• Support network design and O&M for OPIR and national security space missions.

• Assist with infrastructure lifecycle management, including change control and configuration tracking.

• Collaborate with tenants and external providers on outages, upgrades, testing, and risk mitigation.

• Help translate mission needs into technical requirements and actionable plans.

• Participate in status reporting, impact analysis, and configuration audits.

• Work with cross-functional teams to implement secure, resilient infrastructure.

• Ensure compliance with TS/SCI security and accreditation standards.

Salary: $180,000 - $195,000 DOE

• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in network communications engineering within complex or classified environments
• Proven expertise serving as a subject matter expert (SME) in coordinating with multiple stakeholders, including tenants and external communications providers
• Experience supporting and managing:
  • Network outages, upgrades, testing, and incident resolution
  • Risk assessment, mitigation planning, and impact analysis
  • Change control and configuration management
  • Physical configuration audits and status accounting
• Strong understanding of DoD IT compliance standards, including DoD 8140
• One or more of the following certifications (Required - DoD 8140 Compliant):
  • Security+
  • CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional)
  • CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner)
  • SCCP+ or equivalent (DoD 8140 baseline certification)

• Excellent communication and reporting skills
• Ability to work independently in high-stakes or mission-critical environments
