Overview/ Job Responsibilities

Sev1Tech is looking for the right candidate to play a role on a very large program involving network, cybersecurity, and cloud operations and engineering support services to a government customer with a significant mission for security and public safety.  The contract will encompass a wide range of tasks including but not limited to: Program Management; Monitoring, Analysis and Incident Response; Tier 3 Engineering and O&M; Field Engineering technical support; and Cloud operations.

 

The Network Operations and Security Center (NOSC) Metrics Analyst will work directly with the Performance Management Lead and the customer to ensure that effective, measurable NOSC metrics are collected, analyzed, and presented on both an ad hoc and continual basis. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the metrics collected are impactful, and assist in driving sound management decisions. It is preferred that the candidate has a strong background in supporting 24X7 network and security operations, with experience process improvement. The candidate should be familiar the Cyber Kill Chain methodology and how to correctly measure its effectiveness.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Propose NOSC metrics for government approval
  • Obtain and normalize data for usage
  • Develop effectiveness and efficiency NOSC metrics
  • Pro-actively analyze metrics to help determine process improvements and opportunities for use of advanced automation
  • Propose new metrics for customer consideration
  • Develop metrics to show return on investments
  • Develop impact metrics demonstrating the maturity of the enterprise NOSC and/or to identify gaps
  • Support development of a metrics balanced scorecard to display the effectiveness of the enterprise NOSC
  • Support dashboard development for on-demand metrics representation
  • Track metrics initiatives and other projects for the program PMO
  • Report metrics and project progress in customer and/or regular PMO meetings
  • Manage and/or assist with PMO projects

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA degree with four (4) to eight (8) years of experience in the IT professional services industry serving government customers; additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Experience supporting Program Management Operations (PMO)
  • Experience developing metrics to measure performance and improvements
  • Strong data collection and analysis skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with standard project management methodologies, e.g., PMI
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize accordingly
  • Exceptional inter-personal skills with customers and other contractor personnel
  • Ability to work effectively with members of network and security operations and engineering teams
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding, dynamic environment, responding to ad hoc data calls
  • Experience developing Key Performance Indicators
  • Experience reviewing existing performance metrics to determine their value
  • Experience establishing new meaningful metrics, including KPIs.
  • Experience creating metrics dashboards
  • Experience using Power BI, Tableau, and or other data visualization tools
  • Familiar the Cyber Kill Chain methodology
  • Clearance Requirement: Public Trust clearance or higher; Public Trust clearance with Dept of Homeland Security (DHS) or Customs & Border Protection (CBP) preferred

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with maintaining, integrating, preparing, and extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) complex and/or large datasets for analysis
  • Familiar with programming languages such as Python, SQL, etc
  • Experience with DHS
