Lead ELK Stack Developer

As part of a team providing customer support services for deployment of Enterprise-Wide ELK Stack across multiple domains.  This position drives the project and details implementation timelines, documenting integration requirement (API to Logs and Agents) and supports the engineering team to identify and capture enhancement capabilities to present critical data to personnel as well as managers and other customers with a need to know the status of risks and responses to the risks.  Specific responsibilities include:

• Identifying and validating visualization needs of operations, engineering, incident responders, management, and external stakeholders
• Identifying and validating devices integration for analysts and incident responders
• Collaborate with internal and external infrastructure and management teams
• Assessing deployment risks and providing mitigation strategies
• Managing deployment shared resources and delivery timelines
• Salary 130-150k DOE

Must be a U.S. citizen and possess an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance

Must have extensive experience with the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field and four additional years of work experience with ELK Stack engineering in a medium to large scale environment
• Established competency of the following Elastic Stack systems:
  • Deep working knowledge of proven experience with deploying and configuring Elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana
  • Experience configuring and performance tuning large clusters
  • Strong understanding of Elasticsearch index configuration options
  • Working knowledge of Kibana visualization strategies and techniques
  • Good understanding of configuring Beat Agents on VM/Kubernetes/Bare Metal
  • Good understanding of Logstash configurations pipelines
• Established competency with:
  • Kubernetes deployments and HELM
  • Linux system
  • Bash and Python scripting
  • AWS and Azure to deploy and manage IT infrastructure using CI/CD, automation, API deployments
  • Working in Agile environments
  • With Infrastructure as Code development tools (ex. Terraform or CloudFormation)
  • With code repositories (ex. Git or SVN)
• Certification(s)
  • Elastic Certified Engineer

• Established competency with:
  • Full lifecycle management of API’s, Agents, and Logging
  • Monitoring cloud services and on-prem with ELK Stack
  • Explaining complex technical concepts and ideas to business leaders
  • Experience with larger networks with multiple domains
  • Experience scaling the ELK Stack infrastructure to meet enterprise demands
  • Experience deploying ELK agents and supplemental tools (e.g., ELK Observability, HIVE/Swimlane)
  • Government regulations (i.e., Presidential directives, NIST, FISMA, FIPS)
  • PMBOK Principles
  • System Engineering Lifecycle
• Certification(s)
  • Elastic Certified Analyst
  • Elastic Certified Observability Engineer
