Cloud Developer - Tier II

The Tier II Cloud Developer will be responsible for supporting and maintaining a multi-cloud infrastructure for the organization, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, reliability, and security. The role requires expertise in cloud technologies, development, automation, and scripting skills. The incumbent will work closely with various IT teams and business stakeholders to identify and resolve any technical issues and to ensure seamless operations and robust solutions. The ideal candidate should have a strong operational background in a multi-cloud environment, with experience in developing and deploying cloud infrastructure components using automation and scripting tools. Applicants should demonstrate the ability to work as a member of a team, a can-do attitude, continuous learning, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service to both business and IT stakeholders. Certification in multiple cloud platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and manage cloud-based application on various platforms such as AWS, Azure and Google Cloud.
• Configure cloud infrastructure components, including virtual machines, databases, load balancers, and network components.
• Develop automation scripts to manage and deploy cloud resources, using technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, and AWS CloudFormation.
• Perform troubleshooting and resolution of complex cloud infrastructure issues, including system outages, networking connectivity issues and application performance problems.
• Ensure that cloud infrastructure components are configured and deployed to meet security and compliance requirements.
• Develop and manage cloud-based monitoring and logging solutions, using technologies such as CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, and Google Cloud Monitoring.
• Work closely with development teams to identify and resolve code-related issues, while ensuring the cloud infrastructure is optimized for application performance and scalability.
• Develop and maintain operational procedures and documentation, including runbooks, knowledge articles, and standard operating procedures.
• Continuously evaluate and recommend new cloud technologies, platforms, and features to improve the infrastructure’s performance, security, and reliability.
• Identify and drive efficiency improvements by automating processes, implementing self-healing infrastructure, and utilizing cloud-native tools.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a cloud operations role, supporting highly available multi-cloud environments.
• Technical expertise in cloud platforms such as Aws, Azure, and Google Cloud, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS components.
• Strong development skills in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash or Shell, and familiar with CI/CD pipeline methodologies.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of networking and security principles and experience configuring virtual networks, access control lists, and firewalls.
• Experience with monitoring and logging technologies, including CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, and Google Cloud Logging.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and Agile methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, self-motivated, and proactive.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Must be clearable for a us Government Clearance

Clearance Preference:

• DHS EOD - 1st priority
• Any DHS badge + DoD Top Secret or Secret - 2nd choice
• DoD Secret or Top Secret + willingness to get EOD clearance - 3rd choice (it can take 45 days to obtain EOD clearance – work can only begin once the clearance is fully adjudicated)
